I don’t know where all of my readers live, but here in Washington, DC, it is a steaming 100 degrees today. In all fairness, today is the first day of summer. But what a way to mark it, right? What most tourists and newcomers to the nation’s capitol do not realize is just how humid this area is.
I truly feel for the tourists and interns that flood the season during the summer, unaware of the suffocating heat they have to face. Your hair can suffer big time in weather like this. If you have long hair, and are not willing to cut it all off in anticipation of the heat, you may want to look in my tool box of humdity-fighting tools and see what you can add to yours.
The hardest task for some may to keep frizz at bay. Right now I am using the Dove Style+Care Frizz-Free Shine Cream-Serum. I like the product because it is not greasy and it does seem to fight frizz.
Usually, when it is this hot I just like to put my hair up. Items you may need for this include bun base, bobby pins, hair ties, and banana clips. Banana clips are a favorite of mine. It makes ponytails fuller, giving them much more of a style than if I just put a hair tie on it and went on my merry way.
Headbands are also always a must, as is a good pomade. If you want to enhance your waves, you may want to give the new Frederic Fekkai line – Summer Hair – a try. Try the smooth sailing anti-frizz cream, beach waves product, or cooling mist. The whole line is available at Ulta.
