Not Kinky…or Curly? There’s a Shampoo for That

Yes, Hair Say focuses on curly hair. Fros even. But I have lots of friends with hair that is … not curly or kinky. And they also need hair tips. Some are frustrated their hair doesn’t look like Scarlett Johansson’s. Other suffer from bangs that are too short. While others are trying to figure out how to deal with oily hair.

First, let’s talk about hair color. Remember when Scar Jo wore that red dress to the Golden Globes? Now that was a great dress and that hair was some good hair.  The blonde color was superb. Let’s analyze it, shall we?

Perfection

Let’s be real, if you want color that is amazing, you’re going to have to include more than one color (the color and then highlights or low lights). Be ready to drop some serious dough. I’m detecting at least three colors here. Next, the cut. Hate to break it to you, but most likely these are extensions. However, if you have longer hair, you can accomplish a similar look with long layers and a curling iron or wand or large hot rollers. When curling hair, always be sure you are not putting too much hair on each roller or making each section you’re curling with the curling iron too large. For hold, I use Garnier flexible hold hair spray.

Now let’s move on to another problem some of my friends complain about. Oily hair. So here is some advice on how to deal with oily hair. First, done brush it too much. Brushing distributes oils. Also, steer clear of moisturizing shampoos. Clarifying shampoos are better because they will rid you of that gunky feeling. To try: Pantene Smooth Vitality Shampoo, Frederic Fekkai clarifying shampoo, or Organix Pomegranate Green Tea Shampoo for Revitalizing Hair. Also, if your hair is that oily, skip the conditioner. Just don’t do it every time you wash!

I hope this helps all of you non-kinky ladies out there! There will be more posts for you, so keep coming back.
