The diffuser is a wondrous tool for curly hair. If you have 3C or curly hair, it is essential that you know how to use one and I am finding that a lot of people do not know how to use the diffuser. Some don’t even know what it is.
First, what is a diffuser? A diffuser is really an attachment to a blow dryer. They vary in price from $10 to hundreds of dollars. This is what a diffuser looks like.
Now how do you use it? First, wash and detangle your hair. Next, take the mousse or curl cream you intend to use and work it through your hair. Take hair by sections and diffuse it.
To diffuse the hair by sections, place a section in the diffuser and move the diffuser upward and downward. You may also gently massage the scalp with the diffuser in order to better dry the roots. That’s it! Once you do all of the sections you’re done. Your curls will be intact. I especially love the diffuser in the winter and colder months when I have to wake up early and do not want to air dry. When diffusing hair, I normally use Dove whipped creme styling mousse or DevaCurl frizz-free foam.
I have heard from some that the diffuser does not work for them, but if you have curly hair, it should. Happy diffusing. I plan to diffuse my hair tomorrow so I’ll post some pictures to show how it looks.
