Why Don’t You Take it All the Way Back to Elementary School?

I saw this style in Essence months ago, so decided to try it today. My favorite style as a child was “one in the front, one in the back” plaits and that is basically what it is. To make it adult, I traded in the plaits for curls and the big hair bows for black hair elastics.

I like it!

To achieve:

* Part the hair across the middle in the back.

* Smooth the edges with As I Am smoothing gel or whatever kind of pomade or grease you use.

* Brush the top bunch of curls upward on your head and secure with a ponytail holder.

* Brush the leftover hair in the back and secure that with a ponytail holder too.

* Leave the ends loose.

I did this on hair that was washed three days ago. I could also see it being a good style for working out, a day of running errands, or even the beach.
