Last Wednesday I got a hair cut for the first time in about four years. It feels great and I tried the Deva Cut. What is the Deva Cut you ask? It is basically a technique used to cut each individual curl according to the curl pattern. This is unique because most cuts are based on cutting straight hair.
To prepare for the cut, I was told to only wash my hair with shampoo the day of, use very little product to define my curls, and to let my hair air dry.
I followed the rules and was all set when I arrived. First the stylist ran her fingers through my hair and separated the curls. Then she began to cut. And she cut. And she cut some more. Now I have noticeable layers AND the dreaded triangle shape I was working with is gone. That is why having layers is of the utmost importance; it combats the triangular shape.
The stylist finished my hair with a wash and used Deva Curl products – including the No Poo, gel, and Arc Angel.
