As I came to the end of my $75 Trish McEvoy Even Skin Treatment foundation in toffee, I had to make the decision of whether I’d restock it or find something more affordable. I am always up for something more affordable, so I decided to take a trip to Ulta.
One makeup line I’ve never purchased anything from, but have heard rave reviews about is Tarte Cosmetics. Some love it because it is vegan, others love it because they have colors that are conducive to various skin tones. And yet others love it because of its mid-level price point.
I decided to try the foundation. The color I finally settled on trying was “deep.” It is gorgeous on! Very smooth and light and still gives complete coverage. I hate to even compare it to my old faithful Trish McEvoy, but it is much smoother on my skin.
While some women see choosing a foundation as a daunting task, if you know how to choose one it can be quite easy and save you a lot of time and money so that you are not constantly on the hunt for a good foundation.
Test it on your whole face. Do not test foundation out on the back of your hand. Do not test it on a cheek. Test it on your whole face just as you are going to wear it. By doing this, you get a better idea of how well the foundation blends with your skin tone because you will see it in contract to your neck and other exposed areas of your skin.
In total, I like the foundation and feel that at nearly $40 less than the Trish McEvoy it is a good deal.
