A week ago I had the pleasure of going to “The Package” tour and seeing New Kids on the Block live. Honestly, I was only four in 1988 when the New Kids released their “Hangin Tough” album which included “You Got It (The Right Stuff).” So I wasn’t really watching MTV.
Then at the height of gangsta rap and the beginning of New Jack Swing, the New Kids – at this point known as NKOTB released a more mature album with production by none other than Teddy Riley himself. The album was not a hit, but at age 8, and now 21 years later *Gulp*, I have a greater appreciation for this era than some of their fans might. So here, enjoy their foray into a more R&B sound and the laying to rest of any question as to whether Jordan was the star of the group.
