Product Review: OGX Kukui Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

The Kukui Oil line is the third that I have tried from Organix (OGX). I’ve also tried and reviewed the Acai Berry Avocado shampoo and the Moroccan Argan Oil Intense Moisturizing Treatment and Healing Dry Oil . Kukui nut oil is oil that is cold pressed from the seeds of Hawaii’s state tree, the candlenut tree.

The OGX Kukui Oil line promises to hydrate and de-frizz, just what my curls always need, so I thought I’d give the shampoo and conditioner a try. I am glad I did. These two products are niiiiice and the best shampoo and conditioner duo I have tried in a while. You all know my motto on not spending a lot of money on shampoo and conditioner, so the Organix line is right in price range.

Love this shampoo and conditioner.
Love this shampoo and conditioner.

After using the two, I immediately noticed that my hair had increased shine even before I added my leave-in and styling products. That’s what I always want, but not what I always get when trying products that promise to hydrate and de-rezz my hair. This shampoo and conditioner were truly moisturizing.

Like all of the Organix shampoos and conditioners they come in the cute, little chubby bottles with the easy pour lids that never seem to spill any product. Waste not, want not, right? Whoever designed these bottles is a true genius and should let other companies know that ease of use is a factor that goes into choosing beauty products. Both the shampoo and conditioner had a thick, creamy texture and smelt wonderful. I got a lot of compliments on how great my hair smelt after using these two! The conditioner also work fine as a detangler. I was skeptical at first, but it did the job while I was in the shower. I also notices less shedding while using these products.

In short, if you are a curly lady and on the fence about trying this OGX line, you should. Aside from the shampoo and conditioner, the Kukui Oil line also includes curl cream and anti-frizz hydrating oil, neither of which I have tried.
