No Shade, Just Honesty – I Didn’t Like Lupita’s Dress

Normally I would do a post on Golden Globes best and worst dressed, but I’m forgoing that for 2015 and coming straight out to say I didn’t like Lupita Nyongo’s Golden Globes dress. Does it matter that I didn’t? Nope. No stylist in Hollywood knows that I or my blog exists. I’ll say it again though, someone failed Lupita. In her defense, theĀ Giambattista Valli couture gown was barely better on the runway.

I wish the top of the purple and cream dress was not purple pieces of materials made to look like flower petals. Nyongo’s petite frame was completely lost in the busy dress. I’m used to seeing Lupita in sleek silhouettes and pretty, girly dresses. While the skirt of the Golden Globes dress fell in line with her previous forays into extremely pretty, feminine dresses like the one she wore when she won the best actress Oscar in 2014, the top lost me. This is a woman who could no wrong fashion and beauty-wise.

But we always have her hair, right? Actually right. Obviously I, and many others, had not seen Lupita in a while because her TWA is now medium length and was picked out to perfection. Her hair looked so healthy. Can someone please find out this woman’s regimen and blog about it?

The bottom of Lupita’s dress is gorgeous but the top was a little too much for my taste. How cute are her glasses though? And she stays representing with the fro!

  1. I actually really love her look!
The decoration of her top is a great idea of the designer and I loved the bottom part even more. I love how she wears her hair and her glasses. To summarize, she rocked it again!
