I’m not going to lie, it took me awhile to warm up to Oyin Handmade Juices & Berries. I was easily talked into buying it at a hair event and was excited to try it, but was not really sure how to use it.
It is actually mostly a moisturizing leave-in but I’ve found it works wonders as far as keeping my hair detangled. I have friends who love the Oyin Hair Dew, but I’ve never tried that. I’ve only tried the Juices & Berries. First, the smell is great. It really does smell like juices and berries. You know how much I appreciate a good spray bottle and this is probably one of the best ones I’ve encountered. It has yet to get clogged.
So how do I use Juices & Berries? Mainly in three ways – as a leave-in conditioner, a moisturizer and a curl refresher.
Like the more popular Oyin Handmade Hair Dew, Juices & Berries is a really good moisturizer. This is partially because it is mostly water, but also contains good ingredients like shavegrass leaf, lavender buds, nettle leaf, chamomile flower, red rose petals, organic flax seeds, organic aloe leaf juice and lavender oil. The concoction smells amazing.
The tonic is also a leave-in. Not only is it a leave-in, but it helps with detangling. As you know, detangling is my least favorite part of being natural, so anything that makes it easier gets love from me.
I also use it as a curl refresher, though in this arena it does not compare to other refreshers that I already use.
