This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and here at Hair Say we love us some teachers. Tiffany is a 6th grade teacher who loves her natural hair. In her free time, Tiffany enjoys decorating her new home. Her love for natural hair (she has been natural for one and a half years now) is evident. The great thing about featuring all of these ladies in the “Hair Say Spotlight,” is that you followers and readers get to hear from more many different women about their natural hair experiences.
Tiffany rocking her signature style. Billie Holiday would be proud.
Here is what Tiffany had to say.
Hair Say: What were your favorite products when you began transitioning?
Tiffany: Shea Moisture Hold and Shine Moisture Mist, Jane Carter Solution Wrap and Roll, Hello Hydration Conditioner
Hair Say: What are your favorite products now?
1. Carols Daughter Tui Hair Smoothie
2. Olive oil and honey
3. Tresemme naturals nourishing moisture conditioner
4. Garnier Fructis sleek and shine leave in conditioning cream
Hair Say: What has been the most difficult aspect of “going natural?”
Tiffany: Finding styles that compliment my hair as it grows. Also, being able to master a protective style I can do myself.
Hair Say: What advice would you give other women who are considering going natural?
Tiffany: Truly seek out your purpose for the journey. Because it definitely is that! Recruit a family member or friend to do it with you! I did it with my sister and it was so rewarding and easier with her by my side.
Hair Say: That is awesome. (Note to readers, Shannon B., who was also recently feature in the “Hair Say Spotlight,” is Tiffany’s sister!)
Hair Say: How does your hair influence your overall style?
Tiffany: I love that my hair is funky, yet sassy. So I accessorize with hair jewelry, flowers, and scarves to compliment that style.
Hair Say: What is your favorite cosmetics line?
Hair Say: You seem like a fun, fearless female! What is the best advice you ever received about hair and the best advice you ever received about life?
Tiffany: The best hair advice came from Nikki Walton’s book Better Than Good Hair – It’s important to be patient with my hair. The best life advice, “It’s important to love and embrace yourself for who you truly are, inside and out.”
Tiffany is definitely taking that advice. Loving herself. Enjoying life. Smiling.
